See How Far You’ve Come Words and Music by Ric Gordon Copyright 2016 Joric Music/BMI I. You never Had a life on your own To understand Just how much you have grown To finally have The life that you’ve never known Chorus Your time in the sun To reflect on all you’ve done See how far you’ve come II. The pain Of your past never leaves It cannot cast A shadow over your deeds You have succeeded And everyone now can see Chorus Your time in the sun To reflect on all you’ve done See how far you’ve come III. But you Still need someone that’s clear True love For you is still here Waiting for you To reappear Chorus II From your time in the sun Because you need true love To choose me is now clear Chorus III Come in from the sun Back to where you belong To see how far you’ve come See How Far You’ve Come See How Far You’ve Come See How Far You’ve Come See How Far You’ve Come

You Always Stayed Words and Music by Ric Gordon Copyright 2016 Joric Music/BMI You always stayed But is scared you so You always stayed But you wanted to go You wanted to go You needed love But you didn’t know You needed love Just to make you feel whole To make you feel whole You never let You’re true feelings show You kept them hidden So no one would know Just what scared you so So what more Do you need to know To feel the rush of Just letting go Of what hurt you so You always stayed But it scared you so You always stayed But now you should know Why you didn’t go

Never Wanted You Words and Music by Ric Gordon Copyright 2008 Joric Music/BMI I Never wanted you to love Never wanted you to kiss Never wanted it to feel like it feels like this Never wanted you to say I'd never be alone Never wanted you to leave Well I guess I should have known II Never wanted you to offer But you had so much Never wanted you to be there Never wanted you to touch Never wanted you to say I'd never live alone Never wanted you to leave Well I guess I should have known Chorus Never wanted to miss you Never wanted to cry Never wanted to have to say goodbye III Never wanted you to teach me all the things I didn't know Never wanted you to hurt me Never wanted you to go Never wanted to imagine we'd do anything but grow Never wanted you to leave Well I guess I should have known

Madeline Smiled Words & Music by Ric Gordon Copyright 2016 Joric Music BMI I. Madeline smiled for her mother She loved to run and to play Madeline smiled for her mother A smile was all she had to say II. Bringing a world of joy to others Taking their love as her pay She always gave herself freely Their joy was all she had to say III. As the years passed her life moved slowly A future measured day by day Still always smiled for her mother A smile is all she has to say IV. One day her body had grown feeble No more to run or to play Gave one last smile to her mother Madeline had nothing left to say

Find Your Way Home Words and Music by Ric Gordon Copyright 2011 Joric Music BMI I Heartache, when you’re away Heartache, all the same today Laying here, so dark alone Find your way home II Heartache, as I touch your hair Heartache, realize you’re not there So many years, when we didn’t know Find your way home Chorus Remember the way It always felt Remember the times Your eyes would melt Remember the nights When I’d here you moan Find your way home III Heartache, when you’re away Heartache, all the same today So many years, when we didn’t know Find your way home Chorus

For You Words and Music by Ric Gordon Copyright 2012 Joric Music BMI I So much has been told So little is known In our hands we will hold Strange feelings so bold Chorus For you For you For you II As we walk alone Our shadows will mourn What leaves us so torn That love come stillborn Chorus Bridge Hope keeps us whole Love cradles our souls Your eyes warm the cold You always, you always III Cross fade till we’re old Too soon time to go Emotions full grown Make themselves right at home

Ashes In The Fire Words and Music by Ric Gordon Copyright 2016 Joric Music BMI I True love always seemed unreal Right until I found it The way she made me feel Yeah, she taught me what love is Now all that has ended The sun refused to shine The day my world came crashing down Leaving ashes in the fire Chorus All that’s left is grief for Anni There’s no beauty No refrain All that’s left is grief for Anni With only hope of her To sustain II In her face there shown such kindness In her laughter there’s such grace With her eyes she saw through my whole world Oh how I long for her embrace But now all that has ended The sun still won’t shine The day my world came crashing down Leaving ashes in the fire Chorus Chorus

about

"Sung straight from the heart is the passionate performance of Ric Gordon’s “Songs for Her”. Intimate to its very core, the songs are stripped down to the absolute essentials. With merely a voice and a guitar, Ric Gordon is able to accomplish great things through the powerful sound. His words are delivered with the utmost of urgency of purpose and reassurance. Ric Gordon’s voice is strong as it teems with the utmost hope and belief in others." Beach Sloth Music Blog

Songs for Her, #120 on NBTMusicRadio Top 230 Albums of 2016
You Always Stayed, #142 on NBTMusicRadio Top 240 Songs of 2016

This album was recorded live on Saturday, May 21st, 2016. This is a pure live recording, with only acoustic guitar and vocals. Three mics were used to capture the ambient sound of the guitar and voice, nothing else was used. There were no retakes, or overdubs and no corrections for pitch or mistakes. Only minimal mastering was done for EQ and clarity, but no additional level was added to any track. This recording is as pure a rendition of the concert as possible. The guitar on all tracks is a 1969 Martin D-35. I bought this Brazillian Rosewood beauty new when I was 16 years old. We have been everywhere together.
